Tegra 2 devices to get PlayStation Suite

NVIDIA

According to the latest  blurb on NVIDIA’s own Android app, Tegra Zone, all Tegra 2 devices could be getting support for the upcoming release of hardware-neutral gaming platform, PlayStation Suite.

What does this mean? It means you could be playing PlayStation games on your Android Tegra 2 devices before the year is out!

This is the same software that will be included on the soon-to-be-released Sony Ericsson smartphone, the Xperia Play, which runs on the Android operating system. The Xperia Play is to be given a timed exclusive of the PlayStation Suite application, but it is set to be rolled out to other devices later throughout the year in 2011.

The announcement originally also mentioned that PlayStation 2 titles will be making an appearance at a later stage. However, this part of the message has since been removed. Fingers crossed on that one though  (it could mean PS3 support for PS2 titles as well)!

Tegra 2 devices range from high-spec smartphones to the latest tablet devices.
