PS3 firmware 3.41 is now live – adds ‘you may like’

A small incremental firmware release has just gone live on the PlayStation Network, increasing the PS3 console version from 3.40 to 3.41. The officially announced change is the addition of a ‘You may like’ section on the PlayStation Store.

When viewing a certain product, the new option lists a few similar games or movies that…well…you may just like. We have been informed that these recommendations are not controlled by sponsors or pushing certain brands, but instead by the popularity and quantity of downloads in similar genres. Meaning people like you and me can impact what is shown rather than a publisher with a fat wallet.
