It’s too easy to lose track of which retailer is offering what pre-order bonuses these days. It seems like it’s impossible to get all the content for a game now without placing 10 different pre-orders, thanks to the fact every shop seems to be given their own exclusive* deal. The cheapest deals at the moment are at ShopTo.net, where it is £34.95 for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game and £31.85 for the PC version.

* It’s worth noting that the term ‘exclusive’ tends to mean ‘timed exclusive’ now – so you probably can get all the content if you’re willing to wait a little bit longer

To lighten the load for you, I’ve come up with a breakdown of the exclusive pre-order  incentives currently being offered for Batman: Arkham City in the UK.

Tesco

£39.70 (PS3/360)
Joker’s Carnival Challenge Map pack (with Joker Steelbook Edition)

ShopTo.net

£34.85 to £59.86 (PS3/360) or £31.85 to £34.85 (PC)
1970s Batman Suit – Alternative Batman character skin

GAME / Gamestation

£39.99 (PS3/360) or £29.99 (PC)
Robin Edition – Robin playable character, extra character skins and 2 challenge maps

This is by no means an exhaustive list; if you know of any more exclusive pre-order bonuses let me know in the comments and I’ll get them added to this page.

Crysis

After the sequel received a lukewarm response (in terms of gameplay – it received a tremendous acclaim for it’s graphics and technology), Crysis is gearing up for a release on home consoles. We all knew it was going to happen, and if you’re like me you’ll have been anticipating this day eagerly. The question is; when is Crysis going to be released?

Well, first of all, it has been announced that Crysis will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a downloadable title. The game will be using the newer CryEngine, and thanks to that boasts “improved lighting” amongst other enhancements.

And finally, the date for Crysis’ release on the PlayStation Store and XBLA Xbox Live’s Games on Demand, and is set as October 2011. Yep, that’s potentially less than a month away from now before you can be awed by the beauty of the island paradise hosting the major part of the Crysis story. Oh, I suppose you’ll shoot some stuff too.

The game is priced at £14.99 / 1600 MSP.

REVIEW: Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3

Hey Guys and Gals,

Not really updated in a while due to the  festive season being so hectic.

Here is a review of  Toy story 3 on the PS3 by my cousin Kyle,

Kyle Writes,

After having toy story 3 for 3 days now i have soon realized that the main story in the game takes you through areas that appear from the film.

In the game you mainly have to find game cards that give you different points and upgrades such as speed, balance etc, The games allows you to choose from 3 of the main characters of the film who are Buzz, Woody and Jesse. You can swap who you are playing as through the many different missions. Sometimes you have set characters for certain missions but its mainly one of the 3 mentioned above.

The story itself starts on a board game and you work your way through each of the levels, some of the levels relate to previous toy story movies which i found to be very intersting and nostalgic.

Each of the 3 main characters have many similarities but they can do other moves which the others can’t for example, Buzz is much stronger than the others and can throw object alot further, Jesse is quicker than the others and woody can jump greater distances, As you progress through the game you will find pieces of Zurg, who is the nemesis of Buzz. Once you have collected every piece of the character you will then be able to unlock Zurg as a p[layable character. Zurg is only a playable character for the PS3 version.

The look of the game really does mirror the movie(s)and it makes you feel like your in the movie. The characters are very detailed for instance you can see Buzz’s red button for the laser on his arm and you can see Woody’s pull string on his back.

The game plays quite well in some areas but not in others, for example when you are making a jump from one object to another it more than often feels like your always going to jump over the object, The way in which the characters move is good because they are easy to control. however this is let down by bad camera angles making some areas difficult to manoeuvre around.

I feel that they could have included more levels in the game as i went through the story mode in just over  an hour, the game could have also benefited from more choice in playable characters from the movie(s) and the game environments could of been made larger.

To conclude then,

For me this game really worked and I felt that I could keep up with the different missions and areas of the game, I could play the levels again and again and I wouldn’t get bored, I would recommend this game to all types of gamers, Go on buy it, you will have great fun, I did!

PLAYABILITY 7/10

GRAPHICS 7/10

SOUND 8/10

LONGEVITY 4/10
